Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior AV Technician to join the in-house events team at a prestigious London venue. This role is ideal for an experienced AV professional who enjoys working in a dynamic events environment, delivering exceptional live, hybrid and on-demand productions.
Working across multiple event spaces, you'll take ownership of technical event delivery, operating and supporting a range of production technologies including vMix, PTZ camera systems, live streaming platforms and recording solutions. You'll also provide leadership within the team, helping to develop junior technicians and ensuring every event is executed to the highest standard.
Event Production & Technical Support
Configure, test and operate AV systems for a wide variety of events and client requirements.
Deliver live, virtual and hybrid productions using vMix, streaming platforms and camera systems.
Provide technical expertise and support to clients before and during events.
Install, relocate and optimise AV equipment across multiple venue spaces.
Ensure all event rooms are fully prepared, tested and operational ahead of event start times.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively in live environments.
Equipment Management
Maintain venue AV systems and associated equipment to ensure maximum reliability.
Monitor and manage stock levels of accessories, cables, consumables and spare equipment.
Arrange equipment servicing, repairs and replacement where required.
Assist with evaluating and implementing new technologies and system improvements.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance programmes.
Team Support & Leadership
Act as a senior point of contact within the technical team and support daily operations.
Provide cover for the AV Manager when necessary.
Allocate tasks and coordinate activities for technicians and freelance crew.
Mentor and support junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
Foster strong working relationships with venue departments and event stakeholders.
Compliance & Best Practice
Adhere to all venue procedures, health & safety requirements and company policies.
Complete operational documentation, reports and shift handovers accurately.
Maintain clean, organised and professional technical workspaces at all times.
Promote high standards of service delivery and customer experience throughout the venue.
Skills & Experience Required
Demonstrable experience delivering live, hybrid and streamed events.
Strong knowledge of vMix, streaming technologies and PTZ camera systems.
Experience with BirdDog PTZ cameras would be advantageous.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills within live event environments.
Ability to work independently whilst supporting and leading others.
Professional, organised and customer-focused approach.
