Job Description
We have a new opportunity for an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector to join our client’s growing team.
The Lifting Equipment Inspector is responsible for inspecting all lifting gear across our client’s current and future UK locations. This includes keeping accurate records of said inspections and ensuring our client’s is compliant at all times with all European/UK lifting equipment regulations.This will involve some travel to other UK locations but the position is based at our client’s Blackburn location.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills and high attention to detail.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Inspect all lifting equipment across all our client’s UK locations.
• Accurately record all inspections via our client’s cloud-based system, ensuring this is up to date at all times.
• Work with their Warehouse teams across their UK locations to give them a basic level of knowledge pertaining to Lifting gear.
• Travel to all our client’s UK locations when needed for inspections.
• Maintaining health and safety standards (this includes wearing the wearing of PPE etc)
• Assisting with their maintenance of their warehouse.
• Ensuring accurate completion of relevant paperwork and timesheets.
• Keep a clean, tidy and safe working area.
• Actively check and respond to our client’s emails during working hours.
Team Responsibilities
• Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all our client’s
employees
• Maintain the highest level of their customer relations
• Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to their direct supervisor, Warehouse and Premises Manager.
Organisational Responsibilities
• Maintain and operate as per our client’s quality standards in all work activities
• Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture building activities
Qualifications and Pre-Requisites:
• Vast experience of carrying out Lifting Equipment inspections on items including Chains, Slings, Shackles, Manual/powered hoists, Truss and various other forms of lifting Equipment.
• LEEA Qualification
• Strong Knowledge of Inspection techniques and regulations.
• A Good overall Knowledge of the fundamentals of general engineering and strong attention to detail.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Physical Requirements:
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required.
The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
