Job Description
We have a freelance opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a newly created AV systems integration company. Ad-hoc support. London and South East based. Immediate start.
Overview:• To ensure all work is performed to the highest standards and that quality techniques are practiced.
• To work in compliance with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
• Be proactive in suggesting new methods and techniques to improve efficiency.
• Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
Person Specification:
1. Experienced in providing high level client facing Audio Visual and Unified Communication service support.
2. Hold a recognised qualification in electronic engineering / servicing / or equivalent combination of manufacturer education and related field experience.
3. A full working knowledge of communications, networking, audio visual systems and system components is essential.
4. Fully conversant with audio DSP based technologies, gain structure and the requirements of sound reinforcement within the presentation environment.
5. Proven experience in the testing, fault finding, servicing, maintenance, engineering and installation of electronic audio-visual systems, or related field.
6. Good knowledge of touch screen and web-based control technology with the ability to retrieve and upload stored code.
7. Experience in IP and ISDN video conferencing systems.
8. Solid foundation in providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced AV/VC environment.
9. Be organised and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day.
10. Ability to schedule own work, prioritise requirements and work under pressure whilst maintaining SLAs is essential.
11. Strong client facing skills and customer-focus with an understanding of the sensitivities of working on a client’s site when providing support.
12. Ability to think laterally finding an appropriate solution to fulfil an application or meet a deadline.
13. Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
14. Ability to demonstrate planning, organising and implementing skills which ensure the successful completion of a service visit by a specific due time and date.
15. Strong ethic of following process and procedure.
16. Have the ethic of delivery of a quality solution where second best is not good enough.
17. Able to work on own initiative and accept accountability.
18. Work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail.
19. Represent the company in a professional manner on its customers’ sites.
20. Be competent to a high level of computer literacy.
21. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
22. A formal AV qualification or equivalent is desirable.
23. A valid and current driver’s licence is desirable as is access to own vehicle to travel to / from client site.
24. Hold and utilise own quality tools as required for the job.
