Job Description
New opportunity based in the south west. Our client is looking for an On-site AV Technician to support an educational facilities AV department.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:• Reporting to the Site Supervisors who will allocate daily tasks and activates
• Assisting with the setting up & supporting presentations and conferences and all events. Test, check and ensure equipment is in an operable condition prior to any meeting or presentation
• Supervise meetings as required
• Setting Up Video conferences as required
• Provide support on an individual basis to users at all levels of seniority on Audio Visual equipment, connectivity and applications where appropriate
• Attend and remain on station for important events; specifically high profile video conferences and interview broadcasts until the event has concluded or the client indicates your presence is no longer required
• Ensuring that daily, weekly, monthly checking and ad-hoc testing is carried out in accordance with documentation supplied by the client and that, which may be updated as required by circumstances
• Locate faults or problems and provide solutions on a first line basis. Working with the A/V project manager and senior A/V engineer, provide a work a round, if problems may be mission critical. Such solutions may involve room bookings where clients are required to move rooms or to brief them on temporary technical arrangements.
• Provide assistance with monitoring and maintaining inventory records of audio-visual equipment
• General porterage of AV equipment
• Camera operative duties
• Administration duties including recording of pre-booked jobs on AV booking service system
• Logging and recording of job progress and resolution using the Universities’ Remedy Action Request system
• Accreditation to Infocomm CTS within probationary period
Additional duties may include:
• Travelling to other University sites within the area
• Late working at short notice
• Technical support for off site meetings
• Installation of mobile PA system
• Knowledge of VHS & DVD recording
• Operation of stage lighting equipment
• Repair of audio, video and network (RJ45) patch cables
• Testing and checking of network points
• Re-lamp and reinstall LCD data projectors
• Reinstall software code for VC and Audio codec’s following equipment replacement
• Sound balance using audio mixing and Crestron touch panel based controls Camera. White balance for VC and broadcast units in studio and auditorium
