Job Description
Our client provides lighting & audio visual services primarily for the Museum sector supplying innovative high end technical solutions throughout the UK and Europe. The Technical Installation Manager will involve working collaboratively with the operational and project management teams to ensure the delivery of a consistent and cost effective technical package that will complement and enhance our client’s highly respected set works business.
Primary Responsibilities:• Specifying & quoting technical packages from tender documents received.
• Obtaining accurate and up to date costs from suppliers.
• Onsite technical installation skills from running cables to programming & commissioning.
• Leading teams of freelance installation technicians on site.
• Technical planning & scheduling.
• Specifying and ordering equipment cost effectively.
• Suggesting new or alternative technical solutions where appropriate to those outlined in tender documents.
Essential Skills:
• Thorough and detailed record keeping and an obsessive attention to detail.
• An in depth knowledge of LED lighting fixtures, power supplies & maintenance.
• A good working knowledge of projectors and projection techniques.
• Effective time management skills, working to strict deadlines and scheduled timelines.
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of museum lighting & projection through training and on the job practical experience.
• AutoCad experience would be an advantage but not essential.
• Capable of producing technical schematics.
• Experienced in the use and programming projection blending and mapping software.
• Although not essential some knowledge and experience specifying and installing LED screen technology would be an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and team members.
• Effective problem solving skills.
General:
• Knowledge of health and safety & CDM regulations
• A keen interest in new and immerging lighting, projection and effects technologies
• Responsibility for the regular maintenance and PAT testing of workshop tools
