Job Description
The Senior Onsite AV Technician's prime function is to provide AV support across the client campus. The position involves a high degree of exposure, working with clients, partners and client fee earners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Onsite AV Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Establishment, implementation and documentation of inspection and testing routines
- Daily routine checks and testing of audio visual equipment and systems
- Preparation of the day for BAU
- Liaising with team and planning the day, looking at clients and events
- Installation of spare parts into critical equipment in the event of equipment failure
- Ensuring audio visual equipment and associated floor-boxes and cables are kept in a safe and tidy condition ready for use
- Recording and maintenance of health & safety documentation
- Set up and testing of fixed systems as required
- Cross-trains with other members of the team to ensure a seamless delivery of services and support to our hosts and their guests
- Communicate directly with internal Guest Services staff, employees, and external guests regarding their meeting room resource (e.g. technology) requirements
- Set-up, operation, and de-rig of AV equipment for all events: from small internal meetings to large high-profile events
- Setup and testing of video conferencing equipment with all remote locations
- Responds to calls and troubleshoots situations in a quick, calm manner
- Maintains extensive knowledge of all technology available
- Liaising with AV/IT representatives from external parties in the lead up to bridge operated VCs
- Working with the Reception/IT Department to ensure all AV requests are meeting the client needs
- Weekly meetings with Room reservations to discuss future events & AV support
- Arranging support tech for events when needed.
- Daily checking of the DataCraft room booking system to ensure all meetings with AV requirement are covered across the firm
- Responsible for monitoring the Cisco TMS booking tool for meeting management, which includes booking meetings, relocating meetings, or making changes to existing reservations
- First line fault diagnosis and rectification
- Work with the IT team to troubleshoot issues that may impact their offices
- Replacement of consumable items e.g. projector lamps and ensuring that the stocks are held on-site
- Effective communication with team members, HQ and other 3rd Party maintenance providers
- Fault logging and tracking & keeping the spreadsheet updated.
- Recording of duly authorised equipment movement between client sites/venues
- Recording and processing of all repairs and modifications
- Maintaining the database for the compilation of monthly and quarterly reports
- Investigate faults and recommend further actions to rectify.
General AV Meeting Room Support
- Ensure all multi-media / presentation rooms are maintained in good working order
- AV equipment setup and support
- Quick response to emergency / ad-hoc requests. Faults and Room Checks
- Carry out regular preventative room checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly in accordance with the room check procedure
- Ensure that all faults are reported in the correct way and in a timely manner
- Proactive maintenance / reporting to ensure all AV equipment is always of the highest standard and functioning correctly
- Assist with first line fault repairs
- Carry out all power down / up when required, usually involving out-of-hours commitment
Skills and Abilities
- Ensure you are fully conversant with all AV equipment at your disposal
- Keep your technical knowledge up to date
- Planning and Organising Self and Others
- Excellent client facing skills
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Ensure client requests are acted upon promptly
- Aim for 100% accuracy in all aspects of your role as an Audio-Visual Technician with all the resources supplied
