Job Description
We have a new opportunity based in Scotland searching for an Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer.
The client designs, supplies, installs, and maintains integrated Audio-Visual systems throughout Scotland. Centrally located in Glasgow, the company is well placed to offer the environment and culture for you to reach your full potential with an employee ownership scheme allowing you to be a real part of the future and success of the business.An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team to enhance the Engineering department, as the company embarks on the next stage of their growth plans, having successfully weathered the challenges of the Covid pandemic.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Responsible for completion of all commissioning documentation and formal handover of the system to the client
• Supervising system pre-build works at client & company premises to the required standard
• Carry out testing and configuration of systems built off-site prior to acceptance testing
• Preparing acceptance testing documentation prior to client or consultant acceptance tests
• Assist in the second fix of AV systems by supplying design drawings and cable schedules to the highest possible standard
• Provide control system programming and GUI design (Extron, AMX, Crestron)
• Set up, test and commission systems on-site to meet the required standards
• Completion, and where appropriate, documentation of as-built version of configuration software for DSPs, Matrices etc
• Support the Project Managers with all technical aspects of project delivery, in documentation, liaising with 3rd parties, design drawings etc
• Provide technical support for all installed systems including technical advice to the client and other team members
• Provide technical support for on-site system maintenance, system repairs and modifications after project completion
• Provide technical information and support for Sales, Installation and Project Management staff
• Any other duties and responsibilities as deemed required by line management
Required Skills
• In depth professional AV engineering knowledge
• Experience with Extron, AMX and Crestron control system programming and deployment
• A working knowledge of Extron and Biamp DSP’s
• Experience in the deployment of Zoom and Teams Room Systems
• An understanding of AVoIP and Dante network technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
• Experience in commissioning and fault-finding of complex AV systems
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential to meet necessary deadlines
• Close attention to detail
• Current and clean Driving License
