Job Description

As an Engineering Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of the engineering department within the organization. You will be responsible for coordinating and streamlining various processes to ensure the efficient functioning of the engineering team. This role involves a combination of strategic planning, project management, and team leadership to drive operational excellence.

Our client is a global leader in cinema exhibition services in EMEA. The company provides smart, comprehensive solutions, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional service. The role will be based in their UK - London HQ, within a team of 21 people and a turnover close to £10m.

Reporting to: Operations & Sales Manager
Hours: Monday – Friday 9-5pm

Key Responsibilities;

Strategic Planning:
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic goals for the engineering operations aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Analyse current operational processes and identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings.

Process Optimization:
• Evaluate and enhance existing engineering workflows and procedures to increase productivity and quality.
• Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize operational efficiency.
• Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies in project development and execution.

Resource Management:
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels, and recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and business priorities.
• Monitor and manage the utilization of engineering resources to maximize productivity.

Project Management:
• Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery within the engineering department.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Implement project management tools and methodologies to improve project tracking and reporting.

Collaboration and Communication:
• Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of teamwork and information sharing.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, timelines, and potential issues.

Quality Assurance:
• Implement quality control measures to ensure engineering deliverables meet or exceed established standards.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the quality of engineering operations.

Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with engineering projects and operations.
• Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and disruptions.

Budget Oversight:
• Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage the engineering operations budget.
