Job Description
The Project Engineer's role is to work with the other engineers & lead engineers to install the project to the best possible standard in the timeframe laid out by the PM.
Experience Required:• A good overall understanding of Audio Visual Systems, how they work & how they connect
• Good knowledge/
• Cinema systems & Surround sound
• Able to read & understand technical drawings & schematics
• Electrical knowledge
• Field/past hands on Experience
• Faulty finding & problem solving
The role will be an evolving position responding to the requirements of the company, however the main duties will include:
• Liaise with the site team to get any work by others completed we may need to complete the task in hand, this may be the lead engineers role if they are present
• Working closely with the Lead engineer, project engineers & third party teams when required on site to install the project to a high standard
• 2nd Fix Installation (Data, AV outlets, TV installation, Speakers) Termination of AV, Data & Control cabling to a high standard following company wiring rules laid out in the handbook
• Rack Build, Patch panel Termination, general rack wiring (Power, Data) to the standard laid out in company rack build guidelines.
• Understanding & Wiring of Lighting & Blind control panels (Lutron, Crestron)
• Understanding & Installation of TV/Satellite distribution Systems
• Understanding & Installation of Video Entry Systems & Access control/locking systems
• Understanding & Installation of CCTV Systems
• Understanding & Installation of Cinema & Surround sound systems, Projectors/Projector screens
• General understanding of Networks, Able to use a laptop to diagnose basic issues with systems when needed
• Not essential but for those that want to train in Lutron Programing, Basic Crestron courses
• Being able to read & follow technical drawings & schematics & explain to other more junior members when needed
• Ensuring when we are working in completed or in/around high end finishes that the area is protected well to avoid damage to third party finishes, documenting completed work in case of damage by others.
• Feedback to PM on a regular basis if the lead engineer is not present so they know where we are on site that day/week
• General understanding of H&S on site
