The Live Event Technician role is based in Belfast and will be central to the successful technical delivery of live events, combining hands-on audiovisual expertise with occasional leadership duties as an Event Lead. Working as part of a talented and supportive team, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining professional AV systems on-site, while taking the lead when required to ensure seamless event execution.
This position offers the opportunity to work across a wide variety of live experiences — from corporate conferences and award ceremonies to concerts and theatre productions. It demands strong technical ability, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to ensure every event is delivered to the highest professional standard.

Our client is recognised as one of the most successful and innovative companies in the event industry. They deliver exceptional projects and events across Europe, combining cutting-edge technology with expert technical support.
They are now seeking a Live Event Technician to join their dynamic team—someone passionate about live production, committed to excellence, and eager to build a rewarding career in this exciting field.

Key Responsibilities
• Event Management & Delivery – Take ownership of a number of events in the role of Event Lead, coordinating technical delivery on-site, managing crew where required, and ensuring projects run to time and specification.
• Equipment Preparation – Prepare equipment at the client’s HQ, including pulling gear from event lists, labelling, and packing for transport.
• Installation & Configuration – Install and configure professional-grade live event AV systems on-site (sound, video, lighting, LED video walls). The client’s stock includes industry-leading brands such as d&b Audiotechnik, Yamaha DM & Rivage Series, Absen LED, Barco e2 Switchers, and Chamsys lighting controllers.
• Troubleshooting – Test, fault-find, and resolve issues across audio, video, and lighting systems to ensure flawless event delivery.
• Event Operation – Operate live AV systems for a range of events, from corporate functions to live music and theatre productions.
• Client Interaction – Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, offering clear technical guidance to enhance event delivery.
• Quality Assurance – Maintain high standards of workmanship, adhering to industry best practices and health & safety protocols.
• Driving – Safely transport equipment to and from event sites using company vehicles (including long-wheelbase vans).

Skills & Experience
Essential:
• Practical experience with live sound, video, or lighting systems (professional or voluntary).
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow and system setup.
• Ability to manage and deliver events under pressure in fast-paced live environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence (with experience driving vans desirable).
Desirable:
• Familiarity with high-end AV brands such as d&b Audiotechnik, Yamaha, Absen, Barco, or Chamsys.
• Previous experience in corporate events, concerts, or theatre environments.
• Knowledge of health & safety best practices within live events.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Training & Career Development
• Full training and development will be provided at the client’s HQ, including certifications.
• Hands-on experience working with high-end AV technology and complex event setups.
• Excellent opportunities for progression within a fast-growing, established company.

Why Join the Client?
• Competitive Salary & Benefits – Rewarding package tailored to experience.
• Varied & Exciting Work – A mix of office hours and live event work, including evenings and weekends, ensuring no two days are the same.
• Career Growth – Clear progression pathways within a trusted and expanding industry leader.
• Cutting-Edge Technology – Work with premium AV equipment and internationally recognised brands.
• Dynamic Team Culture – Be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation and excellence.
