About Your Trainer – Paul Barton Hodges

BMus (hons), PCGE (PCET), ACTC

After training at the Royal College of Music, London, Paul embarked on a mixed career, initially as an instrumental teacher and freelance classical recording engineer. In 2004, with a family on the way, Paul combined these skills to take on a teaching and lecturing post in Music Production for the University of Kent and Canterbury College. From here he made a move into the independent school sector and successive roles as Head of Music Technology at two leading boarding schools before leaving full-time teaching in 2016 as Head of Digital Media for the King’s School, Canterbury. It was in c.2012 that Paul started livestreaming concerts on YouTube (a task that was considerably more complex than it is now!) and this lead to his move in 2016 to form his first media productions company and onto the launch of BH Broadcast in 2021.

Since 2016, Paul has worked on a wide range of projects from broadcast design and installation to large scale events for international brands and musical projects accross the globe. As a true Multi-Skilled Operator, Paul is now returning to the ‘classroom’ to share his experience and knowledge of some of the latest releases in the broadcast industry.
