Job Description
We’re hiring! This is a great NEW opportunity for an experienced Event Technician to join our fast growing Production Division. Based at the JM London studio in Soho, you will work closely with our Operations Team in technically leading and delivering live events across the UK and beyond. This is an ideal role for a Technician seeking a supervisory role working with multiple high-profile venues and creative clients adopting innovative technologies.
Main duties:• To be the technical lead on the delivery of live events
• Communicating with the event organiser on-site, overseeing rig & de-rig, providing leadership to support crew on the day of the event
• At the end of each event managing the removal of all AV equipment ensuring hire kit and JM kit are safely returned to avoid damage
• Responsible for assisting to prepare event logistics including production plans, relevant resources and liaising with JM Operations Division in respect to crew
• For each event assisting and giving guidance to the Operations Manager for event proposals, calculating the client budget and finalizing quotes
• Conducting site visits to determine successful delivery and contingency plans
• Specifying AV hire equipment including scenery, graphics and any additional elements where required such as transport
• Planning rig and de-rig of all related AV equipment
• Assisting in producing risk assessments where required
• Post event attending wash-up meetings to discuss areas for improvement and areas of success
• Working with Operations Manager to determine strategic improvements in relation to capital investment and operational efficiencies
• Maintaining equipment inventory, storage and labelling
• To represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manor to clients and public
Other duties:
• To work as part of the JM production division with a helpful manor acknowledging the work pressures of colleagues
• To provide assistance in developing the company and client base
• To be a positive driving force in respect to managing freelancers and client expectations
• Communicate new ideas and experiences to the team to help grow the service
Desired experience & skills:
• Proven experience of technical support and delivery of live events
• An appreciation of complex AV systems used for live event production
• The ability to learn and develop a wide range of skills around all types of technology
• Strong attention to detail, preference to working flexibly
