Job Description

Our client is searching for an AV Data Engineer to join a developing AV Team. Please see below for more details.

Key Responsibilities
• Install vertical and horizontal Information Transport Systems (ITS) – metallic and optic
• Testing and fault finding of metallic and optic ITS
• Install telecommunication spaces
• Install Audio Visual (AV) and IP systems
• Basic testing of AV and IP systems
• Ensure materials and any tools required are available to ensure a project can be completed.
• Maintain and monitor job diaries which will include documentation of hours spent on a job and a materials list
• Maintain equipment lists in accordance with ISO requirements including tools checked in and out and equipment calibration records
• Provide support and / or training to others / junior employees
• Oversee junior field engineers ensuring that quality is maintained
• Report any issues or complaints from clients and document these as necessary
• Complete all paperwork as necessary for the various tasks of the role
• Carry out risk assessments for jobs
• Record and collate field test results
• Carry out job surveys and assess job changes and document/record
• Maintain good communication / working relationships with clients and 3rd parties
• Control of Stock and Material
• Ensure job packs and site documentation are completed for sign off

Key Knowledge and Skills
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Information Transport Systems to include but not limited to:
• Telecommunication Spaces – EF/TE/TR/ER/SER
• Pathways – Internal and external raceways, conduits and slots
• Backbone distribution systems – Topologies, cross connects, methods, media,
• Horizontal distribution systems – Methods, media, work areas, open office
• Outside Plant – Ducting, aerial, buried
• Bonding and Grounding – Electrical, telecommunication, equipment, lightening
• Firestop Systems – Methods, systems, considerations
• Power Distribution – Basic principles, power safety, AC, DC, redundancy
• Metallic Media – Types, selection, limitations
• Optical Media – Types, selection, limitations
• Electro Magnetic Compatibility – EMI, EMC,
• Data Networks – Architecture, topologies, hardware
• Wireless Networks – Basic principles
• Field Testing Practices – Standards, copper, fibre, fault identification, administration
• Health & Safety Process – RAMS, PPE, training
• Telecommunication Administration – Identification methods and systems, labelling and record keeping
• Project Documentation – Plans, schematics, Gantt charts, reports,
• Codes and Standards
