Job Description
A new position has become available working for an AV Integrator. Our client is searching for a Technical Operations Manager, who will support the increase of engineering capacity and capabilities of our clients company through developing existing staff and recruiting additional staff.
The Technical Operations Manager will be also working with the Commercial Operations Director on the following areas:• To improve ‘right first time’ delivery of AV installation projects.
• To improve Incident & Problem Management ensuring timely & effective technical support service delivery
The Technical Operations Manager will act as technical ambassador to clients during the formulation of complex AV designs
Principal Tasks/Accountabilities:
• Strengthen the AV commissioning processes & resources to maximise right-first-time implementations within budget and on time
• Set clear standards and development goals for in-house engineers
• Lead the recruitment drive for additional support and installation engineers
• Recruit and manage of AV installation sub-contractors to the same technical and behavioural standards;
• Act as technical solution designer and commissioning engineer as required
• Provide technical advice in particular respect to complex DSP configuration, and AV distribution and control
• Supervise and lead important implementation projects, and quality assure other projects.
• Operational lead for health and safety compliance management and to enforce the company’s ISO QMS.
Technical / Personal Specification:
• Strong technical education and formal training in audio and AV technology
• Professional AV installation experience and competency, including complex DSP commissioning engineer experience and competency (especially biamp and/or QSC).
• Good communication skills, both written and oral, to explain complex technical issues to clients. Able and willing to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
• Logical, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage in stressful situations.
Remuneration:
• Core hours 37.5 hours per week, plus overtime available. The employee will be asked to sign the EU Working time directive waiver.
• Pension 5% of base salary.
• Holiday entitlement 25 days plus bank holidays
• Car contribution scheme – employee provides own car but the scheme covers vehicle costs including lease payments up to an agreed level
