The AV System Designer is responsible for the detailed design of Audio Visual systems for our clients AV and Broadcast projects. The role is a full time office based position and you will be accountable to the Post-Sales Design Team Manager.
- To take the technical brief for a project from Pre-sales department
- To produce detailed systems designs and schematics to match the brief
- Production of, or assistance in the production of, M&E CAD drawings
- To produce written technical equipment specifications
- When necessary, to provide project details and equipment specifications to in-house and third party control system programmers and provide assistance with any control system issues
- Preparation of the necessary documentation for ‘Acceptance Tests’ conducted at our premises and on site where necessary
- To provide technical information and support for all sales, Pre-sales, Installation and Project Management staff
- To assist the sales department in producing customer quotations for systems
- Assess and appraise new technologies to help deliver the best possible solution to the customer
Essential Skills
- In depth Professional AV and/or Broadcast Television systems engineering knowledge. (Crestron, AMX, BiAmp, QSC, Extron, etc)
- 2D CAD skills using AutoCAD or other CAD package
- Documentation skills
- Communication skills – ability to deal politely and efficiently with customers both on the telephone and in meetings
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable Skills
- TCP/IP Networking knowledge
- Infocomm CTS Certification
- Infocomm CTS-D Certification (advantageous)
