Job Description
To lead a team of technicians in the preparation and servicing of equipment within the department, to the Company’s standards within the deadlines set.
Department:- Supervise the team in the prepping and testing of equipment in line with the Company’s standards and procedures.
- Assess workloads and staff levels within the department to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure daily staff counts are entered onto Insphire.
- Ensure the department is manned at all times across operating hours.
- Co-ordinate and fulfil order requirements on Insphire database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure that returned equipment is accurately and promptly checked in, ensuring any missing or damaged items are reported to the account manager.
- Continue to develop established prep procedures for all equipment within your department.
- Check sub hired equipment upon receipt of and prior to return, ensuring items are complete and in the same condition as received from supplier.
- Attend and participate in weekly warehouse meetings and report any relevant information back to the team.
- Maintain the highest level of housekeeping, ensuring preparation areas are kept tidy and adequately stocked.
Technical:
- Ensure all relevant equipment is PAT tested, conforms to LOLER, PUWER and electrical regulations and all legal inspections, certification and records are maintained where appropriate for equipment within your department as required prior to despatch on Insphire order.
- Ensure the Company’s quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure Manufacturer Software versions are up to date on all products where appropriate.
- Plan the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring all stock is regularly serviced/repaired and available for rental.
Asset:
- Ensure assets are available and ready to rent as soon as practicably possible in order to meet set deadlines.
- Ensure equipment is appropriately identified and our clients bar codes are present.
- Resolve issues in conjunction with account/project managers relating to shortages of equipment / consumables for forthcoming jobs.
Training:
- Lead and actively partake in the training and development of all your team ensuring they are enrolled in the appropriate training programs in conjunction with HR.
- Train other team members in the preparation of equipment in line with the Company’s established standards and development program
Staff Management:
- Report any elevated department staff issues to the Operations Director / HR department as appropriate.
- Undertake interviews for potential new staff members in conjunction with HR and Operations Director.
- Undertake annual performance reviews for your staff in conjunction with HR and within set time frame.
- Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure Company health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure any health and safety issues are reported to the Operations Director and Health & Safety and Workforce Development Director as soon as possible.
Personal Competencies and Behaviours
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels, relating to others and working as a member of a team.
