Excellent opportunity for an ambitious, client facing AV Technician seeking career progression. Specific product & software training provided.
Department: Global AV/VC DepartmentResponsible to: Global Multimedia Supervisor
Purpose of the role: Under supervision responds to and advises on technical set-up of Audio Visual and Video Conferencing equipment. Completes the setup of such equipment based on daily schedule, discussion with customers and interaction with other support teams.
Ensures presentations are set up in a timely manner.
Basic training of Service Desk Personnel on operation of firm AV equipment and procedures.
Responds to standard client requests and technical queries by email or phone in a professional manner.
Verify customer satisfaction once the work has been completed.
Follow up with customers in a timely-manner.
Assist in other areas of IT when needed and where possible.
Keep management informed of recurring problems and difficult customer situations.
Keep current on all changes, updates and additions to the supported
technologies and advise of training needs when needed.
Provide assistance for other offices which do not have AV personnel on Audio Visual and Video Conferencing matters.
Ensure AV equipment and related IT equipment is tested on a regular
basis to ensure it is fully functional.
Testing and mapping of ports to ensure connectivity issues are minimised.
Follow department guidelines.
To assist with the set up and filming/video recording of internal staff presentations; editing the content for both internal/external viewing (5% of the role at present).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications including Word,
PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel to basic level.
Support experience of operating systems Windows 10.
Good knowledge of Video Conferencing equipment and use of programs/hardware in particular:
Telepresence Management Suite (TMS training provided)
Telepresence Content Server
Cisco & Polycom VC codecs
Good problem solving skills - hardware and software
Good ability to troubleshoot errors
Good understanding of varied Audio Visual equipment
Good understanding of network protocols
Good knowledge of Projectors and LCD/Plasma Screens
Good knowledge of Extron Matrix Switching technology
Good knowledge of Extron & Crestron control panels
Good knowledge of Sound amplification
Good knowledge of Sound desks
Personal attributes:
Excellent customer service skills, e.g. helpful empathetic approach;
handles difficult customers and situations in a calm professional manner.
Excellent telephone skills.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to learn and apply new technical knowledge quickly.
