Job Description
Audio Visual Technician permanent position with minimum 12 months contract in the Caribbean islands is needed by our client to assist the Technical Events Manager.
Audio Visual Technician permanent position with minimum 12 months contract in the Caribbean islands is needed by our client to assist the Technical Events Manager.Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Technical Events Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive service for all internal and external guest interactions
- Perform daily room checks to ensure the audio visual equipment in the meeting rooms and executive offices are tested, clean and in correct working order at all times
- Operate and setup of audio visual equipment as requested by Assistant Technical Events Manager
- Deliver corporate presentations and live events as requested by the Assistant Technical Events Manager
- Brief clients in the correct operation of audio visual equipment required for their event
- Communicate any defects and foreseeable problems to the Assistant Technical Events Manager at the earliest opportunity
- Communicate any technology failures or issues experienced during corporate presentations to the Technical Events Manager at the earliest opportunity
- Communicate any temporary solution to the Assistant Technical Events Manager
- De-rig and store any mobile audio-visual equipment upon completion of events
- First line fault-finding on audio-visual equipment
- Ensure spare equipment is maintained in a serviceable state
- Be smartly presented at all times when on site
- Carry out first line maintenance during non-presentation time
- Ensure presentation spaces and daily working area is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times
- Communicate effectively with all team members
- Ensure all clients are handled in a polite & courteous manner
- Listen to client remarks and ensure that the correct actions are taken and followed up
- Show flexibility within the role and be prepared to assist when necessary
- Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures including, manual handling, risk assessments and fire regulations and report any non-conformances in the appropriate and timely manner
- Perform any other function related duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven studies at a university level in a related discipline is a distinct advantage
- Must have a keen interest in AV & Network technology and a strong desire to learn
- Some knowledge of IT Networking and AV terminations is preferred
- Proven ability to perform work in a safe, prudent and organized manner
- Proven ability to focus attention on customer needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team in a multi-cultural, diverse environment
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a demanding and fast paced environment
- Proven track record of excellent punctuality
- The ability to take on-board instructions and to follow them through competently
- Ability to handle feedback in a calm, structured and professional manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Trustworthy and enthusiastic
- A neat and organized approach with a pride in the finish
- Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable and the ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25-50 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing and pulling
The accommodations on site will be provided. There are deductions from the salary which includes a highly subsided rent, food, medical insurance and payroll tax.
